Our Mission Statement
At CK Running Club, we believe that every kid can be a great athlete. We believe that a great athlete is defined by hard work, determination, and the ability to inspire their teammates.
About Us
CKRC is a running club that aims to help kids, ages 8-20, achieve their full athletic potential and make lasting friendships through running. We hold 3 practices per week. Our practices focus on a combination of:
- Middle and long distance running
- Speed and agility training
- Strength training
- Core conditioning
- Fun team building exercises
Our program is designed to fit the needs of all runners, beginner to advanced. Our atmosphere is a judgement free space; allowing our kids to feel empowered and to learn to empower and to inspire each other. We, as coaches, were inspired to start this club because of our love for running and our understanding of the need for kids to feel strong and to support each other. Our two daughters, ages 9 and 17, both participate in the club!
Practice schedule:
- Mondays: 6-7:15 pm
- Wednesdays: 6-7:15 pm

My love for training and fitness started 25 years ago when I attended Fanshawe College, where I completed the Fitness and Health Promotion program. Since then, I have been heavily involved in the coaching and training of kids and adults. I have worked as the Strength and Conditioning Coach with many boys and girls soccer teams from the Oshawa Kicks, Oshawa Turul and Whitby Iroquios Soccer Club. I coached soccer with the Oshawa Kicks at both the house league and the rep level for eight years. I also ran my own Personal Training and Bootcamp business for over 15 years. I, myself, have played sports my entire life and continue to play hockey and volleyball. For me, coaching our own running club has been the highlight of my training career!
Coach Lindsey
I have been a lover of running all my life. I come from a family of runners and competed at a high level growing up. I didn’t think I could love a feeling more than the feeling I got at the end of a great run…until I began to coach. In 2001, I started working for the Durham District School Board. Along with a job I love, came endless coaching opportunities. I have coached many sports but my favourite is always Track and Cross Country. I love sharing my knowledge and helping athletes set and achieve their goals. I especially LOVE to inspire young people to fall in love with running.
